Given the unending noise of the camp's clanlife, sometimes the woods were an easy salve to enter. Hushedtalon never balked at noise or chatter, as unable to join in as she was, but instead relished the little insights into clan politics and the personalities of her fellows. Now, however, her tether was dangerously beginning to fray. A few kit squalls and some uproarish laughter were a tipping scale on her normally level temper. The she-cat took the time to stretch, a small pop along her spine releasing some tension she'd been holding in. ”Make note. Check bedding for pebbles before sleeping.” Perhaps just sleeping wrong had been enough to upset her day, but the only course of action left was simply to fix the ill. A walk would do such.
She'd pulled herself from her perch in the camp and made sure to walk dead through the middle of it on her way out. Someone would no doubt follow, either resigned or eager for a patrol. When she heard the steps of paws behind her she took it as her cue to carry on at a decent pace from the camp, not necessarily listening to any of the chatter around her. Goal set, goal met. The shade of the trees above passed over, thin shafts of golden light cutting through here and there. Her coat cooled at the dark touch and she sighed lightly. Hushedtalon did not have a short, convenient coat by any means and overheating would be a real threat in a few moons. New-leaf was a gentle balm before the inferno to come. She missed the cold for a tic, but quickly muffled the longing. The last Leaf-bare had been savage. The warrior pulled her attention from the remembered sight of starving and shaking cats and set her eyes on the distant underbrush. No time for dark thoughts here.
The warrior finally turned to set an idle eye on her companion for this adventure, not at all surprised to see the notoriously adventurous Midnightfang.
